With the CIS Cup Final just a week away Crusaders were handed a massive confidence booster when Davy Rainey grabbed the vital winner with a couple of minutes to go.

Not a lot of goalmouth action was prevalent in a dour uncompromising first half with neither keeper having to work too hard, perhaps the swirling gust wind did not provide the best of conditions, but it Dungannon new boy Tomelty signed recently from Coagh Utd who provided a great free kick which just whizzed past Aaron Kerr's post.

The second half was certainly much livelier with Crusaders shading it throughout although it was Tomelty who provided a scare when his first time shot from distance rattled the upright and rebounded into play, shortly after this Rainey gave notice of what was to come when his thunderous header hit the underside of the crossbar and Nelson was able to gratefully grab the rebound. With Eamon McAllister now on the game took a different dimension and his tricky skills were providing a problem for the visiting defence.

And with a couple of minutes remaining in normal time Brown done well in midfield and played the ball into McAllister's path and his pinpoint cross was met by Rainey who towered over the defenders and he placed his header well beyond the reach of the despairing Nelson.
