Crusaders Reserves 1 Lisburn
Distillery 2nds 1
Crues Reserves were held to a draw at home to Lisburn Distillery 2nds which
included six players from J McCrory's U19 team. Crusaders had most of the
play in a tight game with both defences in top form. Lisburn Distillery took
the lead against the run of play when a long ball was not dealt with and the
distillery No.8 volleyed home from 25 yards. Crusaders nearly equalised
immediately when Boylan beat two defenders but Cowan shot wide from 12
yards. Quick thinking from Marks released Boylan but his shot was tipped
wide for a corner from the opposing keeper.
The second half was mainly played in the Lisburn Distillery half with
Sergeant in the Crusaders goal having a easy afternoon. Crusaders equalised
when good play on the left by Turner released Collins and his pin point
cross was superbly headed home from Magee. Substitute Rosati work space for
himself but his shot from the edge of the box went wide. The hard working
Boylan hit a drive from 25 yards which went narrowly missed.
