CRUSADERS BEATEN BY LEAGUE LEADERS     04.02.12

Football for Crusaders today made it ever so obvious about the high and lows of the game we love when the ecstasy of last weeks cup win was replaced by the hurt and pain of a 5-0 defeat by league leaders Linfield at Windsor Park in the Carling Premiership.

The game was nip and tuck in the first half hour until Linfield's Albert Watson scored with a header on thirty one minutes from a corner and it was two nil seven minutes later when Philip Lowry scored after controlling the ball inside the box. Chris Morrow had Crusaders best chance in the first half but Alan Blayney managed to palm it away and the danger was cleared up by Linfield defence.

The second half got no better for Crusaders when in the fifty second minute Gareth McKeown was sent off for tugging back in a Linfield attack and after going down to ten men went three nil down courtesy of the resulting penalty by Peter Thompson. Linfield added a further two in the last ten minutes when Daryll Fordyce and Billy Joe Burns added to Linfield's total.

Onwords and upwards it is and Crusaders turn their attention to the JJB Irish Cup next week against Glenavon.

Hazley goes on the attack

CRUSADERS RESERVES ON CRUSADERSFC.TV     03.02.12

If you haven't watched Crusaders Reserves before click on the link above and see their latest game from Wednesday night. There is over eight minutes of action from the game and the coverage is superb. They currently sit in fourth place in the Reserve League only five points behind Linfield Swifts and they have a game in hand.

This is a great achievement by John McCrorys team as they are a relatively new squad  to each other and have lost Kyle Owens and Ian West who are on loan to Carrick Rangers. They are also very young and anyone who has saw them will tell you how exciting several of the team are.

Have a look and judge for yourself.

200 CLUB ALWAYS LOOKING NEW MEMBERS     31.01.12

The popular and very important fund raising scheme that is the "200 Club" is on the look out for new members and the only winner then will be most importantly the club and also those walking away with big cheques when they have won!!!

With an outstanding £12,700 already raised in just thirteen months this proves that players, management, supporters, their family and friends all have the clubs best interests at heart and want to help it's survival. Now we want more to do the same and with it the chance to get themselves some nice prize money at the same time.

This is why the 200 Club Committee are asking for new members to join the scheme and help the club even further as finances are constantly stretched. Ring fenced for HMRC and players wages the money is and will be a valuable source that keeps the club afloat.

To join just click on the 200 Club tab to the right of this page and read more about the scheme. Then download the joining form and standing order and fill it in and with you could be a big winner all for the price of a £10 stake. It is that easy!!!

CRUSADERS YOUTH ACADEMY MAKE MAJOR PLANS     16.01.12

The Crusaders Youth Academy plan a major restructure for the season 2012/13. As a very young Youth Academy (we will be starting our 5th season in 2012/13) we feel that we have to move forward in providing football for kids aged 5 to 16. We have taken a mix of both the Dutch way of thinking and the Northern Irish passion and commitment and came up with the following.......

The Academy will be split into 3 sections.

The Mini Soccer Centre....U8's & U9's playing 5 and 7 a side football as well as our Mini Soccer Centre for 5 to 12 year olds. This will involve kids of all abilities playing small sided games with enjoyment of football being the main aim.

The Youth Development Centre.....U10's & U11's playing 9 a side, U12's & U13's playing 11 a side. The next step on the ladder will be two teams at both U10's & U11's playing 9 a side. Again enjoyment for the players is the main aim with an eye on the next step up to 11 a side at 12's and 13's.

The Academy U14's, U15's and U16's playing 11 a/side.....The big step up. The Academy will be even more professional and is aimed at preparing the players for the next level of senior football starting at U17's.

As a result we are looking for applications for Head of Coaching for all of the 3 above sections with UEFA C or above badges required.

We are also on the look out for experienced coaches for all age groups as well as scouts to cover all of Northern Ireland. We would also welcome young coaches looking to start out in football ie the future of coaches at Crusaders FC.

If you are interested in any of the above positions please apply for an application form with your name, age, address and coaching qualifications.
