Boxing Day means only one thing and that is the North Belfast Derby (this year at Solitude) in the Danske Bank Premiership. Crusaders will look to push away from Cliftonville who sit three points behind them in the table with a win while Cliftonville could leapfrog Crusaders if they get the victory so all to play for.
We wait to see if Harry Doherty returns in goals today after a late injury in warm up forced him out on Saturday or if Sean O'Neill reains his place. Defensively there should be little change and Billy Joe Burns, Colin Caotes, Howard Beverland and Michael Ruddy should start again. With games coming thick and fast the midfield may change slightly with Sean Ward, Matthew Snoddy and Michael Carvill maybe getting a start and those who played last Saturday starting from the bench but we wait and see. Rory Patterson will be bursting to gat back to starting after a cameo appearance on Saturday while Jordan Owens may make an appearance if he has recovered from injury. Motivation will not be needed for this one and Crusaders will leave the dressing room in confident mood.
Cliftonville where heavily beaten on Saturday by Institute and Crusaders will be aware of the "wounded animal" coming out to play today. Brian Neeson plays in goals after Cliftonville appealed his red card from Saturday while Joe Gormley will most certainly start after announcing a contract extension. Rory Donnelly is good form scoring a hat trick last Saturday so attacking Cliftonville could be dangerous.
So all set for the a massive game at Solitude and the atmosphere will be superb. It is "all ticket" and no cash will be taken on the day. If you have your ticket all you need is your red and black on and bring your voice as well. Sing loud and proud and get behind the lads from start to finish. We care Crusaders so let them know. C'mon Crusaders. Keep The Faith.
