Newry City v Crusaders Preview

Friday night football for Crusaders this week as they travel to play Newry City at The Showgrounds in the latest Danske Bank Premiership game. Crusaders are putting another winning run together and will want to build on that while Newry City sit in the relegation zone and will want the points to help get out.

Crusaders have latest signing Ronan Hale available immediately and he will want to get going sooner rather than later. With the talent now in the squad it will be a hard call to name the starting eleven but Stephen will pick the strongest side that he thinks will do the job. Gerard Doherty may make way for Sean O'Neill again as he works his way into the team while Billy Joe Burns should be recalled alongside Colin Coates. His central partner could be up for grabs if Howard Beverland is available and Rodney Brown could keep his place if Michael Ruddy is not fit. David Cushley will hope to start again after being rested to the bench last week but the midfield is hotly contested and big decisions are to be made so we wait to see. Rory Hale had a Man Of The Match debut last week with Paul Heatley also in sensational form but it could be as you where with Philip Lowry, Jordan Forsythe and Ross Clarke also keeping their place. Up front Jordan Owens, Rory Patterson and Ronan Hale will all want the start and again another tough decision is needed.

Newry City are struggling one place off the bottom of the table but manager Darren Mullen knows one win could get the ball rolling and get them out of danger. New signing Karl Moody will be looking to get amongst the goals so he will be the dangerman to watch. Newry have not won since November  but that will count for nothing as they try and change that. They will be also out to avenge the 3-0 defeat Crusaders inflicted on them on their last visit and having to pick up points quickly they could be a threat.

So we go again in the Premiership with the carrot of being at least joint top until 4.45pm Saturday. Why not join us in Newry and get behind the team. It would be great to have that travelling support with us as we start to move on the top two. Admission is £11 & £7 and the match starts at 7.45pm. Get the Red & Black on and bring your voices with you. From beginning to end let them know you are there. Keep The Faith.
