Crusaders today beat Linfield 2-1in extra time to move into the Quarter Finals of the Tennents Irish Cup.
It ba very tight affair the game swung in favour of both teams throughout the game but the breakthrough just would not come. Linfield went close when they hit the woodwork twice while hard working Ross Clarke and David Cushley made the Linfield defenders work throughout.
The game went into extra time and it was Jordan Owens who scored when he rifled home a cracker from 18 yards and Crusaders where in the driving seat. With four minutes of extra time remaining Linfield equalised when Rory Hale hit a back pass but didn't see Marek Cervenka who calmly equalised. Crusaders where not finished and Gareth Deane saved well from David Cushley and it went for a corner. From the corner the ball was flicked on and it dropped to Billy Joe Burns who smashed the ball home tto send the away supporters crazy. With no time left the whistle was blown and Crusaders where through.
