Crusaders v Ballymena United Preview

Tennents Irish Cup Quarter Final action comes to Seaview this week at Seaview as Crusaders and Ballymena United battle it out for a place in the Semi Final at the end of the month. Games between the sides this season have been superb to watch and the stakes are high again for this one.

Crusaders will be looking to get another win over Ballymena United at Seaview and will look to the win on New Years Day as a bench mark for this game. They will want to hit back after last weeks draw with Glenavon and we could see a few tweaks in the line up again as returning players are made available. The back four will probably remain unchanged and Sean O'Neill will be behind them in goals. Jordan Forsythe is available again after suspension but it will be up to the management team to decide if he comes straight back in given some decent performances over the last few games in midfield by others. We could see the return of Jordan Owens to the squad and he may get a start after missing the last few weeks but Ronan Hale may continue after impressing of late. It is a massive game in Crusaders season and the lads have performed well in training all week. All the prep has been done now they wait for the game to start. Crusaders have reached this stage by beating Glentoran at Seaview 4-1 and Linfield 2-1 away.

Ballymena United come in to the game off the back of a Premiership win against Cliftonville on Tuesday night which stopped a run of hard defeats to Linfield in the Premiership and League Cup Final. Despite  not winning David Jeffrey was happy with the performances and he knows that they have already won at Seaview a few times this season and will push for that again. There is danger all over the Ballymena United team and Crusaders will know that Cathair Friel and Adam Leckey will pose all sorts of threats up front while Jim Ervin will be rock in their defence. Ballymena United have reached this stage by beating Dundela 4-1 away and Portadown 4-1 at home.

So we are set for an absolute smasher of a game with no holds barred. We want you at the game wearing the Red and Black and we want you there early. Sing Loud and Proud from the start and let the lads know you are with them. Admission is £11 & £7 and if you have already bought a ticket make sure you don't forget it or have it downloaded to your phone. Do not miss this one!! Keep The Faith.
