Crusaders lost the North Belfast Derby 2-0 at Solitude today in a game they where never really in. Players missing through injury and suspension did not help either but it in general it was a game best forgotten.
Crusaders where behind in the ninth minute when Kyle Owens bundled over a Cliftonville player in the box and Ryan Curran stepped up and scored past Gerard Doherty despite the keeper getting his hand on the ball. It was 2-0 when Ryan Curran scored across Gerard Doherty on 16 minutes. From then on no one took control and both sides cancelled each other out.
Gerard Doherty was replaced by Harry Doherty in nets for the second half after hurting his fingers as the first half came to a close and he made an important save to keep it at 2-0. Brush at the other end made two saves to deny Forsythe then Kyle Owens in the same attack but that was the highlight of a poor second half and Cliftonville had won.
