Crusaders Win Latest Pre Season Game

Crusaders made it three wins from three games in pre season so far after a 4-1 win over Championship side Ards at Seaview on Saturday.

David Cushley scored his second goal of pre season with a lovely shot from 18 yards after 5 minutes and Crusaders where on their way. They didn't capitalise though and Ards scored an equaliser midway through the half with a low shot past Harry Doherty. Crusaders did however score again with four minutes left in the half when Tom Mathieson ran on to a good pass and composed himself before firing past the Ards keeper to send the home side in at half time leading 2-1.

Just after the hour mark Crusaders went further ahead when a David Cushley shot that was already possibly going in deflected off an Ards defender and it rolled into the net. It became 4-1 on 72 minutes when Ronan Hale scored a penalty which was awarded after a trip on Michael Ruddy and the game was all but over. Indeed there was no no further goals and the game ended with the 4-1 score line to Crusaders.

Another win and another good display for Stephen Baxters team and now the plan starts for our next pre season game against Ballyclare Comrades on Thursday evening at Seaview.
