Crusaders went three points clear today at the top of the Danske Bank Premiership today with a solid 3-0 victory over second placed Dungannon Swifts.
Crusaders where dominant from the start and went ahead after only 5 minutes when Philip Lowry scored after going through at the edge of the box before finishing well. Crusaders where ruthless and gave Dungannon few chances but they had to wait to the 40th minute before the second goal. Billy Joe Burns got on the end of a Philip Lowry cross and he doubled Crusaders lead with a good shot past Addis in the opposition net.
The second half was much the same with Paul Heatley finding Jonny Addis in great form in the Dungannon Swifts net. Crusaders went further ahead on 62 minutes when Philip Lowry scored his second of the day and Crusaders third when he followed up on a great reaction save by Addis from Heatley and he struck the ball home to make it 3-0. Despite having most of the play Crusaders failed to score again and it was 3-0 at the whistle.
