It is a switch of competition on Tuesday night as Crusaders travel to play Limavady United at the Limavady Showgrounds in the BetMcLean.com 3rd Round (7.45pm)
We could see a much changed side for this game as Stephen Baxters uses his depth of squad and will give a few key players a rest after last Friday nights big win and also ease back in some players who have missed games through injury. We could see Colin Coates. Jarlath O'Rourke and Rodney Brown possibly return from a spell on the treatment table in this game and Sean O'Neill, Kyle Owens, Harry Robinson, Paul McElroy, David Cushley, Gary Thompson Jamie McGonigle and Tom Mathieson all getting important game time as well as Reece McGinley even getting a start after his return to the club. This will be Crusaders first game in this years competition after getting a walk over in the last round when Lurgan Celtic pulled out of NIFL competition so they will be out to progress with a decent performance and result.
Limavady United play in the NIFL Premier Intermediate League and are currently bottom with no points. They are enjoying success in cup competitions though are are through in the Irish Cup and North West Cup. They will look at this game though as a chance to do things differently and will give it a real go as they look for the big upset. They have already beaten Ards in the last round 4-2 and hit the ground early that night with two early goals from Sean McCarron so Crusaders will need to be alert from the off.
