Crusaders tonight stay top of the Danske Bank Premeirship after a 2-1 win over Ballymena United at Seaview. In a first half Crusaders totally dominated and had six chances in the first two minutes to open the scoring. Persistence paid off and Gavin Whyte put Crusaders ahead with a good run and shot after 34 minutes and it was followed six minutes later by a David Cushley smasher from 18 yards to make it 2-0 at half time.
Ballymena Uited came out fighting the second half and took the game to Crusaders creating some decent play between the sides but both defences where on top. Ballymena United though did get a goal back on 78 minutes when Tony Kane scored a great free kick from the edge of the box. The two teams went toe to toe again for the final twelve minutes and the best chance fell to Jordan Owens but Ross Glendinning made a good save and it left the final score 2-1 at the end of 90 minutes.
