Crusaders Win North Belfast Derby

It is Crusaders who can say they are the Pride of North Belfast tonight as they easily defeated Cliftonville 2-0 at Solitude today.

The first half was controlled by Crusaders who started strongly and Cliftonville did well in defence on several occasions to keep it at 0-0. Sean O'Neill was rarely troubled as the back four marshalled the Cliftonville attack and kept them at bay with the half ending 0-0.

The second half started with a bang and Crusaders took the lead when Jordan Owens outjumped Richard Brush in the Cliftonville net on 47 minutes and headed home. Cliftonville rallied slightly and went close but Crusaders defenders out their bodies on the line to deny them. Crusaders took control again and where rewarded again on 73 minutes when a beautiful ball from Rory Hale set up Paul Heatley to score a great goal and Crusaders where out of sight.
