Crusaders v Larne Preview

It's Match Day at Seaview this week and Crusaders play Premiership new boys Larne on Saturday (3pm) An unbeaten start to the season for Crusaders and they will look to extend that but Larne will be looking to put down a marker and take the points off them and show the rest they can compete.

As long as everyone who played last week reports injury free expect little change to the team from last weeks Derby win unless Stephen Baxter could decide that a few tweaks may be needed to counter what Larne may throw at them and could possibly drop players in and out. Sean O'Neill will start and the back four of Billy Joe Burns, Colin Coates, Chris Hegarty and Michael Ruddy should play again unless Jarlath O'Rourke gets the nod to return after being sub last week. The midfield is hard to call but we should see Paul Heatley, Rory Hale, Ross Clarke, Philip Lowry and Jordan Forsythe in strong contention but Gary Thompson and Declan Caddell will be ready to start after coming on from the bench against Cliftonville and David Cushley could be available if his injury has cleared up. Up front Jordan Owens and Jamie McGonigle are both ready to start and we wait to see who does begin.

Larne hit the ground running with two wins before coming to a halt last week against Ballymena United. Tiernan Lynch will want his team to bounce back but they know what lies ahead and it will not be made easy. The summer signings of Mark Randall and Johnny McMurray are set to start but the players that got Larne promoted such as ex Crusaders player Marty Donnelly, Davy McDaid, Jeff Hughes and Conor Devlin will also have a start. Other Irish veterans such as Albert Watson, Chris Ramsey and Tomas Cosgrove also add to Larnes talent and could prove a hard nut to crack.

So all set for what will be a good game between two open sides. Admission is £12 & £8 with Larne supporters entering via turnstiles 3&4 on the Shore Road. Crusaders supporters enter the Main Stand via turnstiles 1&2 at Creations and for the Harry Corry Stand and terracing tirnstiles 5&6 behind the McDonald Centre. We hope you can make it and if you can get behind Stephen and the team and let's keep this good start going. Keep The Faith.
