It is with great regret that we learn that Colin McAlpin passed away today, 20th September, following a short illness. Colin was a life-long Crusaders supporter, and a former editor of the Crusaders matchday programme. Colin’s working life was on the sports-desk at a range of press and media outlets and his knowledge of the local game was encyclopaedic. In the past two years, Colin has spear-headed efforts to establish a Crusaders FC museum and has brought that project close to fruition. To the end, Colin was a motivated collector and archivist of the Crusaders story and the museum will, when opened, be a lasting testimony to his work. His friends in the North Stand and across the Crusaders family will miss his company, friendship and acerbic wit. Our thoughts are with his daughter Heidi, son-in-law Ray and grandchildren Scarlett and Freddie in the difficult days ahead. Funeral details will follow.
